Welcome to the blog for Holly Langridge. I’m currently based in the North West of England, and working at the Soil and Ecosystem Ecology lab at the University of Manchester. I studied Ecology and Conservation (BSc) then Conservation Biology (MSc) also in Manchester. I have a passion for nature, wildlife and science, as well as a creative streak. I consider myself to be a conservation ecologist, with interests both in original research and practical ecology. My previous research has focused on small mammals, dormice and whiskers. More recent research has focused on plant/soil/root interactions and the effect of climate change on the soil microbiome. My experience as an ecologist includes bat, newt, reptile and phase one surveys.
Here you will find occasional blog posts and photos detailing my ecological adventures, as well as a static home for some related information and resources.
